Xavier Sepeda 1/28/18 Lisa McKenzie Artist as a Reader Get Out Essay Conflict is a major role within the movie Get Out. Throughout the film it changes from internal and external. Said problems revolve around the protagonist Chris. Chris deals with personal issues, racism, and the Armitage family. He manages to get around each of these but the conflicts present in the movie never go away even after the events that occur. Early in the movie Chris and Rose strike a deer. After they pull over Chris proceeds to check on the deer, this is a parallel to the death of Chris’s mother and his incapability to let it go. Chris went to check on the deer, which died on the side of the road in the woods. However while his mother was in the process of dying after a hit and run Chris never made a phone call to ensure the well being of his mother. He struggles with this regret and keeps it hidden until forced out of him by Missy and when he revisits the topic with Rose. This is significant because it provides insight for the viewer and helps us understand why it is the character is the way they are. The
