Moore iStudy PSY 320 Journal #4 Perceptual Load and Processing Capacity Process Capacity is the amount of information humans can take in and handle and the limited capacity of being able to process incoming information Perceptual Load has to do with the ease or difficulty of a task Experimental results from their study proved that there is in fact a limit of information to process and it is related to the perceptual load of the task given. They tested this using high load tasks and low load tasks, to determine the level of their tendencies to become distracted from their task. Results showed that low load tasks had more available room to process information that could allow them to process the irrelevant information presented. High load tasks did not leave any space for irrelevant information to be considered or taken in at all, so there were no distractions.
