DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Materials of Construction and Testing EXPERIMENT 13: BULK DENSITY (UNIT WEIGHT) AND VOIDS IN AGGREGATE 13.1. Program Outcomes (POs) Addressed by the Experiment b) Ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data. d) Ability to function on multidisciplinary teams. 13.2. Experiment’s Intended Learning Outcomes (EILOs) At the end of this experiment the student shall be able to: a) Apply appropriate ASTM/AASHTO standards for density of hydraulic cement. b) Calculate the density and specific gravity of hydraulic cement. c) Interpret how the density of hydraulic cement controls concrete mixtures and design. 13.3. Objectives of the Experiment The objective of this experiment is to determine the density of cement and its specific gravity. 13.4. Principle of the Experiment This test method covers the determination of the density of hydraulic cement. Its particular usefulness is in connection with the design and control of concrete mixtures.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
