Differentiating ActivitiesRationalThis unit will help students learn about placing events in the story in order as well as improve their overall reading and writing skills that they will need when taking their LEAP exams . Students will practice different type of activities that will assist them with grasping the concepts in the unit. Students will learn how to recognize clues in the stories that will assist them with determine their settings, they will write about certain settings from the story, they will compare each setting, and they will picture and draw settings. This will assist students in their overall writing and understanding the importance of listening to the story. Students will write in their journals as well ascompare ideas in their small groups to assist them in writing the main idea in their summative assessment. Students will use different strategies that are taught in this lesson to help them understand, grasp, and widen their reading story. However, they will make predictions about the different texts that will help them better understand what occurred in the story.
