Childhood Obesity 2 The best study design to implement an evidence-based obesity prevention plan is a prospective cohort study. This study is relevant because it studies the incidence, cause, and prognosis of the disease (Merrill, 2017). This allows for several outcomes to be studied, determines cause, establishes the occurrence, rate, and frequency of a disease, and the risk involved (Merrill, 2017). Applying an intervention within a population the study begins at that moment in time with two groups to study, those who are involved in the study versus those who are not. The study design chosen will allow the epidemiologist to start the study with questionnaires to identify the pattern(s) and cause presented in the community selected. The information gathered will show the effects childhood obesity has on the selected population. The
