In my opinion if someone had to ask my professors about how I am as a student they’d say that I participate in any group discussion im not just an robot in class and that I'm pretty energetic on subjects I'm very familiar with. As far as my rock and roll class my professor would be proud to talk about me because coming into class he thought I was mainly just an hip hop guy who only listened to rap music to come and find out I listened to pop and rock growing up mainly because my favorite video game played rock and pop music. During this semester we talked alot about my MBTI and my true color and my MBTI was esfj and my true color was actually orange which meant that I am more hands on person. For the most part everything I do I like to do it hands on instead of watching someone do it and from my results from the MBTI I can't sit and listen to a lecture I'm more of a do it right then and there person. Throughout this semester my MBTI score helped me learn more things about myself that helped me participate more in my human sexuality class on more hands on things at first I was shy because it's more of an inappropriate class but it bring out more fun things and helped me enjoy the class better towards the end. Obviously I need to gain more interest in being able to sit down for a long period of time and listen to someone explain something other then doing it first. As a student I've learned that I'm very last minute honestly. Although it sounds terrible, I have learned to procrastinate but still get the material done. I'm probably last minute with this essay mainly because I'm so busy all the time with life, work, basketball, other classes etc. I've also figured out as a student how much of an participator I am in all events. I blurt out things in class discussions, I like getting involved with the class other than just sitting there nervous like other students. If I could go back to the days where I started to fall off with studying and my grades I'd change so much. I'd actually make a planner of what needs to be done every week. Also, I would study way more for my human sexuality class and take it a little more seriously because at first I thought I'd know everything about the class but its way more technical than it sounds. Also I'd get more sleep/rest because rest is so important and because of me working and playing basketball I'm always fatigued. During the first semesters I feel there was a slight change that was good and bad in a way such as I got lazier from the start to the finish but I still managed to finish most assignments on time. So, personally I'm not the same person as I was when i first started my first freshman year of college because now I have a whole different mindset about college and a different work ethic. My worldview is changed everyday because I feel I learn something new everyday but for school I just need to dig a little more deeper at hard times instead of being lazy. Overall me never failing any class in my life with an 60 or below. I'd say that I'm not happy about my grades but I'm glad to say im not failing any with an F but as of now I have an D which could either go up if I pass my final or dramatically fall down and an D is failing in college so my efforts need to change. If I were to start my freshmen semester over first thing I'd do is use my planner because in college a planner is very useful. Especially in my college success class because things snuck up on me, and that's a big part in why I don't have an A in the class anymore. Reading reflections were a big part in sneaking up on me. I would of concentrated more on studying and actually understanding the material I was getting taught. If I was able to redo this semester I would have prioritized the assignments for each class, making sure I didn’t procrastinate and making sure I was prepared for tests. This semester was a lesson for what not to do next semester. For the most part I did not reach all my goals I set. I wanted to only get A’s or B’s and at this point that does not seem much of an option. One of the goals I set is to pass every class and by the very end of the semester that goal will be achieved. Another goal I will have achieved is being able to take what I learned from Human Sexuality, Rock-n-Roll, and most of all College Success, and apply it to other classes that I will be taking in the future. My very first semester was challenging. It was new and different compared to what I was used to in high school. Although many teachers tried to warn me about how difficult college could be, I never really took them seriously. Now, almost finishing this first semester I have a bunch of new knowledge about what to do and what not to do when it comes to next semester. I definitely would encourage other students to make time for school, meaning make time for studying. Based on this semester, I would encourage students to pay attention to the material and ask for help when it is needed. I wish I was told this exact advice before starting college. ...

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
