1.0 IntroductionThe Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust ICT (The Information and Communication Technology) Strategic plan was established to showcase ICT not as an operational cost centre, but as an constituent function to consummate better productivity and find new mediums for care. The ICT strategic plan lays out the approach needed by Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust (RWT) in delivering increased quality and efficiency of services to the patients. The scope of this report is to critically analyze and evaluate the strategic plan of Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust. The ITIL framework has been used to analyze the situation at RWT, based on which, certain key findings were created to provide recommendations that can provide improvement to the ICT strategy plan in achieving the performance levels to meet the expected quality standards and digital transformation of RWT. In this report assumptions were made to suggest these recommendations to achievedetermined objectives. The ITIL framework processes assessed against the RWT ICT Strategic plan aim to achieve centralized source of information, a robust management plan for financial benefit, a reporting framework, training of resources, etc. [Type text]

1.1 Report Objective/ PurposeThis report focuses on a detailed assessment and evaluation of RWT ICT Strategic plan of 2013-2018. ITIL V03 governance framework has been used as an evaluation tool for this report. The ICT strategies and recommendations mentioned in the strategic plan are assessed against the governance framework ITIL V03. Key findings have been administered based on the evidence collated from the strategic plan. This report exemplifies all the components of ITIL Framework that have been thoroughly analyzed to assemble recommendations, to provide valued outcomes. This report provides recommendations through key findings collated in-lieu of the evidences gathered after contemplation and analysis of the ICT strategies 2013-2018 against the ITIL framework.2.0 Background/ Current SituationIn January 2013, Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust in UK, took on a challenge to transform all paper documented details to a digital platform that could be made available predominantly across all NHS and local body care providers. The aim was to integrate all administrative processes and patient care details into a digital environment persisting of standardized structures to capture information in an effective manner.
