As you have mentioned that according to the fifth culture dimension (Hofstede,1991), long-term/short- term orientation, and power distance are critical in the current global market. McSweeney (2002) claimed that Hofstede’s findings are invalid as he gathered his conceptualization of national culture based on flawed assumptions, such as organizational, occupational and national cultures, which are discrete and not interactive with each other: the micro, local and national, are uniform while the dimensions of national culture can be produced by questionnaire responses; different responses indicate differences in national values; and, national culture is not influenced by the location of the organization.
