SELECTION STRATEGY INTERVIEW 2 Selection Strategy Interview A company's success can depend heavily on the employment selection process. People are an important asset to a company, especially with the value of knowledge retention. Employees not only bring skills but their values to the company. The employee selection process is finding the right person for the right job in the right environment. The right employee can add overall strategic and personal value to the workplace making it important to do what is necessary in order to get the right person. This takes preparation in order to successfully achieve. Dr. M. Smith was interviewed at Company C to inquire and research employee selection strategies. Dr. Smith is the Managing Director of Global Recruiting and Staffing at Company C. Company C is a successful company in its industry and has been serving its customers since the early 1930's. The company has evolved many times and is currently going through another growing phase. Dr. Smith believes that the reason the company has been so successful over the years is the kind of service the employees provide to its customers. Dr. Smith gives the credit to the employee selection team and the processes that have been developed and followed over the years. Current Process The current strategy for employee selection at Company C has evolved as a result of the company's experiences, from laws, regulations, and a constant eye towards measuring and connecting the right people to the right jobs. Company C determined that the most reliable and statistically sound methods of selecting the right employee for positions in their company needed to be a behavior-based process in order to find and retain successful employees. As a result, the majority of the employees have been with the company over ten years.

SELECTION STRATEGY INTERVIEW 3 The company has determined from studies on their process and the resulting statistics that behavioral interviewing has been shown to be the most reliable way of selecting the type of applicant that would better benefit the company.
