Janelle Kelly DB Unit 5 What types of data can be used to generate different kinds of graphs? A bar graph is created using separate bars that represent different categories of data. The length or height of the bar is equal to the quantity within that category of data. Bar graphs are best used to compare quantities across categories. Categorical data are grouped into categories such as yes and no responses. Bar graphs, line graphs, and pie charts are useful for displaying categorical data. I use both bar graphs and pie charts at work. One week our customer count was high however our deposits were not what they should have been for the amount of customers, so I pulled all my data and put it into 3 different categories for my bar graph then out of that info I did
