Schmidt 1 Adam Schmidt Mr. Walter Swartz MGMT 368 February 25, 2018 Personality Test “According to a 2014 trends report from business advisory company CEB, 62% of human resources professionals are using personality tests to vet candidates in the hiring process. That’s compared to less than 50% in 2010, per research firm Aberdeen Group” (Chatterjee). The upward trend towards written personality and psychological tests is to help businesses weed out more applicants during the hiring process. Many scientists and business professionals were starting to realize the old job interview process was not doing enough to eliminate dishonest and thieving employees. This extra step in the interviewing process is a good idea for the Human Resources department. Personality and Psychological tests would help remove unethical applicants but these tests are not bullet proof. Just like job interviews, applicants can also fool these tests. If an applicant is asked what they would do if they found money on the ground outside of a store, and the two possible answers are: pick up the money and walk away, or turn the money into the store customer service. It would be easy for an unethical applicant to choose to turn the money into the
