Assess your personal knowledge and skills against competency standards such as enterprise specific competencies or nationally endorsed units of competency. In your journal, describe the process you undertook to assess your professional competency. Different organisations and countries have different methods for assessing professional  competencies. During my job as a Process Engineer, my organisation assessed my units of competency against membership certificate from PEC (Pakistan Engineering  Council). While in Australia the same applies for skill assessment letter from EA  (Engineers Australia). . Process of PEC: The steps are as follows i. You complete the application form ii. Complete the required documentation process iii. Submit the application  iv. Certificate will be sent to your mailing address . Process of EA: i. Register on EA portal ii. Read instructions for application in MSA booklet iii. Write Competency Demonstration Reports (CDRs)  iv. Write Summary Statement for CDRs v. Write Continuous Professional Development Statement (CPD) vi. Compile identification documents as per EA instructions vii.
