For the most part, the problems that re-entering offenders face are anticipated. The most common issues upon reentry of society are substance abuse, lack of education, lack of skill, limited housing, and mental health issues. Someof the offenders could possibly have a history of social isolation, physical or emotional abuse that began in their lifestyle at an early age. These factors are also something that is looked at upon their reentry.Something that the corrections system can do help are reentry programs. Reentry programs are often based on a case-management approach and cover a range of interventions. These interventions are designed to assist offenders in preparing for their release from
