MODULE PROJECT WEEK 7 Introduction In fact, it‘s the social complexity of wicked problems as much as their technical difficulties that make them tough to manage – Camillus (2008, p.100) Identifying the challenges in any organization requires patience, wisdom and expertise; with the inborn and acquired skills of the leader, these challenges will turn failures into success. Teamwork is mandatory in the municipality and everyone has an important role that will contribute to the success of our town. By definition leadership is challenging and dealing with people from different backgrounds, age groups and cultures, by itself is not an easy task. As president of the municipal council, I consider social complexity as the main challenge I am currently facing. As a leader and role model in my council and my town, I have to be very cautious while taking decisions to avoid negative impact on the council members and town citizens. That being said, my job is to “model the way”, “challenge the process”, and “enable others to act “. The fundamental key to a successful organization is to overcome diversity by adopting techniques which are suitable and fit for every single member of the team. Analyzing the challenges Considering myself a focused leader, I rely on authenticity and gut feeling while identifying the weaknesses in my organization; relying upon my focusing skills I can identify and analyze the challenges I am facing. As a leader my duty is to foster collaboration within my team. The challenges faced are cultural, social and economic. Identifying the challenges a leader is facing and being able to highlight the difficulties occurring is a hard task; as mentioned before it requires skills that one should have acquired over the years.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
