Question 1 A data warehouse (DW) is an organised collection of operational data comprised of information collected from a variety of company resources, internal and externally obtained. A DW is used for a company to have a single storage location that is accessible to the relevant person. This person would use this information for any operational system within the business. Data is entering this warehouse after it is transformed, converted and retrieved from the relevant sources [Definition]. Having all the informational resources in one accessible location, provides the advantage of rapidly retrieving the needed information and security can be controlled, allowing the data to be secured without being compromised. Question 2 Business rules within databases are a specific set of requirements or constraints placed on entities, attributes, or relationships. These are important to also keep consistency of data, avoid redundancies, and avoid anomalies. Three business rules for diagram: A LECTURER cannot teach in more than one ROOM at the same time A ROOM cannot have more than one CLASS using it at a time A LECTURER cannot teach more than one CLASS at the same time
