After reading Catherine Fitzmaurice Breathing is Meaning article , I feel kind of disappointed that this was not one of the first articles we read when starting to talk about breath in the beginning of the semester. Also, it’s a really good refresher on what we have learned, experienced and exercises we used to enhance our breath in voice. Just by reading the first two paragraphs it gave a clear precise meaning on where, how and when breath is used in a given circumstance or situation. Also, how breath controls the resonance in our body. The definition or characteristic of breath in this article is “… The energy impulse that excites the vibration in the vocal folds and the resulting resonance in the body – starting, continuing, and stopping it.” Our body, emotions and self-awareness influence breathing a lot.
