Week 2 Discussion: What is big data? The applications I use the most frequently would be Facebook, Google and Amazon. I decided to use Facebook as an example. According to Techcrunch.com, in 2012 Facebook’s system processed around 2.5 billion pieces of content and 500 + terabytes of data each day. Facebook uses data warehouses to store their data.
