Safety & Sanitation I learned that you are to wear an apron and keep your hair tied up at all times while cooking. I learned that you are to wash your hands before and after you cook ( dishes too ). Key question: it is important to wash sanitize kitchen tools because they carry bacteria and can contract it easily. Not sanitizing your utensils can cause your food to be contaminated as well.

Kitchen Tools I learned that the real name for a “spachula“ is rubber scrapper. I also learned that there are 2 different sides to a cheese grader. If grate your ingredients too low or small, you can cut your fingers. Key question: Ladle: a large long-handled spoon with a cup-shaped bowl, used for serving soup, stew, or sauce. Grater: a device having a surface covered with holes edged by slightly raised cutting edges, used for grating cheese and other foods.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
