Our experiences also influence our understandings of schooling, teaching and learning, and human diversity. Each of you has a story to tell, an understanding of the world around you, and have been influenced and shaped by multiple cultures. Aspects of power, privilege, and opportunity have also affected each of you (directly or indirectly). In this assignment, you will compose a mini-autobiography in which you reflect on your own identity and the ways in which social identity markers (such as social class, race, ethnicity, language, cognitive and physical ability, gender or sexual orientation) informed your schooling experiences and development of self (how you think about yourself in the world).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
