LAB 03- Logins and Line Settings By the end of this lab you should be able to: Console to a router Configure shared passwords Configure user name and password authentication You will need the following items for this LAB: 1 x Router ISR 4k, 2900, etc PC with console port Step 1: Console into router using 9600-8-N-1 !Do you have console output? Router# -What part of the CLI are you accessing the router from? Use “show running configuration” Step 2: Configure Console with a shared password !configure the following switch(config)#line console 0: !enter console line configuration switch(config-line)#login !forces the use of shared passwords switch(config-line)#password cisco !configures the shared password -Type exit + enter repeated until the console is logged out -Once logged out type enter, this should prompt for a password
