Team Presentation: The Symposium Learning Objectives: A symposium is when a group of individuals present on different aspects of the same topic for the benefit of an audience. It is typically followed by an open forum (Q&A period). To better understand how to conduct individual and team presentations (Chs. 14-15) in preparation for business presentations throughout your career To practice extemporaneous delivery skills (e.g., eye contact, volume, pitch, inflection, pace, posture, presence, enunciation, pronunciation, speaking only after arriving at the podium, finishing your sentence before leaving the podium and not allowing your sentences to trail off, etc.). Instructions: Working interdependently, each team should prepare and present a 20-minute symposium with slideshow about effective business presentations, emulating principles learned from chapters 14-15. 1. Each team will be assigned a topic from the textbook (Chs. 14-15). Do not use other team’s material.
