Gracie Perry Professor Reynolds Art Appreciation 22 March 2018 Kim McCarthy, "Urban Buddha", 2009 I chose to write on "Urban Buddha" created by Kim McCarthy because I love the way that McCarthy uses contrasting colors and various prints. After researching this piece, I found that McCarthy used stencils and mixed media to create this work of art. McCarthy creates a sense of mass and volume with the Buddha at the bottom. The Buddha is the emphasis for me because it is the first thing that my eyes were drawn to.
