Rebellion A factor of culture in the 1920s was rebellion. The younger generations were tired of not “living” so they were getting rid of the standards their parents taught them. Alcohol being illegal caused many to start smuggling it and going to speakeasies. And there were not enough to enforce the law so many got away with the crimes. Organized crime also rose up, large empires of gangsters were smuggling alcohol into the country.

Celebrities Another factor of culture in the 1920s was celebrities. The American population was now able to keep up with famous people. There were movies being produced causing people to want to be like them. There were avigation heros doing things that no one has ever done before. Large companies were using celebrities to endorse their products causing the American people to go out and buy it

Growing Cities People wanted to leave behind the provincial life of the small towns.
