Sydney Flora 3/23/2018 Exam Question #9 The first electronic television was invented in 1927. As television began to expand and grow as a communicative device the type of information that was broadcasted became an issue, and so this was the beginning of censorship. In 1942 Tweety Bird made it’s first appearance in a TV show called “A Tale of Two Kitties”. The animator of the television show had originally drawn Tweety Bird without any feathers and the censorship bureau felt that Tweety Bird was “too naked”. Therefore, the animator was forced to draw Tweety Bird with feathers. In 1953 the first televised murder trial aired clips from a teenage cop killer named Billy Eugene Manley, although, prior to 1953 any type of court room trial was off limits to television cameras.
