Mogens Niss, born 1944, professor of mathematics and mathematics education, Roskilde University (RUC), Denmark Trained as a pure mathematician with a thesis on topological measure theory utilised in the theory of stochastic processes (University of Copenhagen, 1968). Research and teaching assistant Dept. of Math., University of Copenhagen, 1968-71. Scientific assistant, The Danish Engineering Academy 1971-72. Appointed member of the founding staff (associate professor of mathematics) at RUC, 1972. Affiliated to IMFUFA, from the establishment of the department in 1978. Senior associate professor 1989, full (state) professor 1993.When IMUFA was incorporated into the Department of Science, Systems and Models in 2006 he became affiliated to that department. He is currently the director of the research group IMFUFA. MN’s main field of research is mathematics education, where he has published well above a hundred papers in scholarly journals and books, and twelve books. His
