Civics and Government: Unit 2 Review. FELIX XAVIER TANJAYA (844929357) What would you do if someone threw a brick to your face? Would you need to point them out? Or just let it be? It is quite ambiguous, right? This kind of situation always happens in the government life. If the government was too lenient, they cannot govern their country, then the people will do all the things they want without the concern of law. On the other hand, if the government was too strict, the people would rebel. In this essay we will discuss 3 events and realities that shaped the founders’ thinking about government which are Magna Charta, Articles of Confederation, and Shays’ rebellion. In 15 June 1215 , King John of England agreed to sign the Magna Carta, which is the document of agreement that everybody including King John are under the law. King John was forced to agree to the demands of the barons that were written in the Magna Carta. For examples the right of the church to be free from governmental interference, the rights of all
