ETHNOGRAPHY STUDY 2 History Looking at my family’s history over the years was very overwhelming, we are all molded by different things that have happened in our lives. I searched through many photographs. After looking through them I got an idea of who I should write my ethnographic study about. Most of the pictures that we searched through were pictures of family members working. Whether that working be as a waitress, farmer, bank teller, entrepreneur, or shoe store manager. I then decided that I would focus on my family’s work ethic. Work ethic pertains to a person who encompasses a positive and productive approach towards work. When I picture someone, who has a good work ethic I view someone who works very hard and does what they do because they enjoy it. I wanted to interview a family member that has worked hard throughout their lifetime and truly made an impact on my family. I could not think of anyone more deserving than my grandfather, Pete Jones. Pete grew up in a household with both parents and his five siblings. He was the only boy sibling in the family and the youngest. He spoke to me about how growing up in his household he learned a lot about giving women respect as well as being the man and the provider for the family. Hearing his stories and looking through pictures really made me realize how much family values have been passed down in our family. Aspects of Family Origin My grandfather has worked since he was 14 years old and he is now 74. He is currently retired, but still does construction for different job sites. He worked in a mill from the age of 14 until he was in his early 20’s, he then decided it was time for a different job now that he was married and about to have children. He had always told his wife that he wanted to live a comfortable lifestyle and not have to struggle for money. Pete Jones also made the promise that his wife could be a stay at home mother while they were raising their children. When he was 22

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
