BIOLOGY SAFETY LAB You are about to embark on a series of laboratory investigations designed to give you “hands-on” knowledge of biology. In order to make your lab a place of learning and discovery, it must be safe place in which to work. Safety in the lab is part of the scientific process of orderliness and logical thinking. Safety Rules 1. Always listen to your teacher’s instructions and perform only experiments authorized by the teacher. 2. Read the lab procedure carefully. Keep your lab instructions on your table for reference while you work. Ask questions if you don’t understand something. 3. Use the safety equipment provided for you and follow the safety guidelines for each lab. 4. Never eat, drink, or chew gum during a lab, or eat or drink out of lab equipment. 5. If you spill a chemical, wash it off/wipe it up immediately and tell the teacher. 6. Know the location and proper use of the fire extinguisher, safety shower, eye wash station, and first aid kit.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
