Discrimination is real and it does hurt when it’s done to you directly. This message resonated through the feedback projected by the children, as well as their counterparts that were 30 to 40 years older. As third grade teacher Jane Elliott stated, “if this experiment is not conducted correctly, this can have a damaging effect on children.” Unlike adults, children are looking for guidance and understanding for the world around them.
