Running Header: Are Parents Empowered? 2 Parents Empowered is a campaign in Utah to help parents teach their children about alcohol abuse. It was designed with the help of the Utah legislation to help reduce the amount of underage drinking in the state. Parentsempowered.org is the leading website for this organization. I enjoy the idea of this campaign. The information on the website seems very organized with a good message designed to help families. The “steps” that they have prepared to help are in the right track. As a parent myself I can see the advantages to this. They give suggestions on parenting, rules, having fun, follow up, be aware, and stay involved. This is a good way of preparing parents for the tough discussion of alcohol abuse. However, as much as I appreciate the idea of the steps to helping your children, I do not appreciate the execution of the steps. The information in each step is way to specific and almost
