Katherine Crenshaw Russek AMS311S 11/19/07 Take Home #6 For this particular assignment, I went to Roy’s restaurant on 2 nd and Trinity. The restaurant in Austin is one of thirty-two locations found in the United States. Roy Yamaguchi is a Tokyo native who has clearly been successful with his amazing invention of “Hawaiian fusion” cuisine. This term “Hawaiian Fusion” is what Yamaguchi calls, “ — a tempting combination of exotic flavors and spices mixed with the freshest of local ingredients, always with an emphasis on seafood”. His dishes are a direct reflection of just that. I chose to eat at Roy’s with my family this weekend, honoring my parent’s 22 nd wedding anniversary. I can easily say that Roy’s is my favorite restaurant. My parents got married in Kappalua on the Big Island and my dad had a golf tournament every year around the beginning of November, so I have been privileged enough to have visited Hawaii many times growing up.
