English 209 6 April 2018The Battle at Helm’s Deep The Battle at Helm’s Deep was a monumental part of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Kings, Men, Dwarves, and Elves came together to defeat the enemy. Saruman sent his army of Orcs and Wild men to destroy the king Théoden at Helm’s Deep. Aragorn rose to lead the army and with the help of Eomer they kept their men fighting tirelessly until the end. Just when they believed all hope was lost, Gandalf the white appeared with an army of 10,000 men. Saruman’s army was ultimately defeated and Helm’s Deep prevailed once again. It was no secret that the men at Helm’s Deep were out numbered. When Saruman’s army began to reach the wall, the men knew they were up for the fight of their lives. Gimli and Legolas were not phased by massive army and were more worried about who would have the most kills between the two. Aragorn and Eomer fought side by side like they have been doing this their entire lives, “The two swords flashed from the sheath as one” (Tolkien 149). Aragorn
