Subject: Updating Accounts Payable System
As we all know technology is always changing and to make sure our facilities are successful, we
as a team need to make sure we have the best technology to help us run successfully. We need to
make sure that we are using technology that can benefit the processes and procedures we already
have in place for our accounts payable system. It has been decided that instead of using an on-
site system, we will be transitioning to a cloud-based system. A recent article titled, Accountable
Accounting, by Julie Thompson (2016) tells the benefits of using a cloud-based system and how
it can help Long Term Care facilities transition to use advanced technology.
According to Bill McQuaide, "The senior care industry is the second most regulated industry in
North America” (as cited in Thompson, 2015). It is an industry that is going through a transition
