Recitation Mandatory recitation sessions take place on Friday in Room B 214 between 9:30 am – 10:45 am (Section 1) and 11:00 am – 12:15 pm (Section 2). These sessions will be guided by Teaching Assistants and focus on problem solving to prepare students for tests, quizzes, and homework via “hands-on approaches”. Center for Academic Support in Engineering Additional (optional) help sessions are offered by the Center for Academic Support in En- gineering (CASE) in the Engineering Library. Tutors are available to support the students during homework and quiz/test preparation. Peer-Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) Some engineering courses are historically known to be very challenging such that many students either receive a D , F ail the course, or W ithdraw early (DFW). This is known as high DFW rates and Engineering Mechanics falls into that category. But to prevent either of those scenarios (in Engineering Mechanics) and to help students to succeed, the college now offers the optional Peer-Assisted Study Sessions (PASS). The meeting dates and times for the sessions will be determined based on the students’ availability via an online survey/poll that will be conducted within the first week of classes. Participation is highly suggested. Required Textbook R.C.
