Queen Victoria -Queen Victoria began her reign in 1837, she married Prince  Albert, who was a huge influence in her political views. Anther  important man in her life was Lord Melbourne. She had a very  high respect for him and he helped her run a constitultional  monarchy. Queen Victoria wanted very much for Europe and  Britain to be at peace. -she was known as the "peoples monarch" -Victoria’s ideals were the ones of most of the British public. Her  ideals were very puritan. Being a puritan meant that she believed  in strict Christianity and discipline. -Britain was very powerful during Victoria's reign. They never lost  a war and also made many advances in academics and art, it was  almost like a new renaissance. More people were given the right  to vote, total man suffrage. Local government in Britain became  more democratic. The British Empire was the “superpower” of the
