In the case of abortion there are many arguments for, and against it. Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. This requires the removal of an embryo or fetus before it is equipped to survive outside of the uterus on its own. The majority of abortions are done before 28 weeks. Women deserve to have access to safe abortions, it is ethically wrong to deliberately pass laws that allow access to safe abortions to be unattainable. It is as well ethically wrong for an establishment to deceive women seeking abortions to let them think they offer abortion services, when in reality they do not. 29% of Americans think that a woman should be able to legally have an abortion under and circumstances . 50% of Americans think that a woman should be able to legally have an abortion under certain circumstances. 18% of Americans think that a woman should never legally be allowed to have an abortion, and 3% of Americans just don’t have an opinion on that matter. (Gallup, 2017) Crisis Pregnancy Clinics (CPC’s) are clinics that do not offer abortions, in fact their entire goal is to get a woman seeking an abortion into their clinics to change their minds. The names that these places go by are often misleading with names like; Choices Women’s Center, Informed Choices Medical Clinic, Choices Family Resource Center and Center for Pregnancy Choices. The names are very deceptive there are many CPC’s that like to use the word choice in their name as if they are offering many different choices to pregnant women. Center for Pregnancy Choices is a CPC that was founded by a woman named Barbara Beaver. In an interview regarding her thoughts on abortion she said, “You are deceiving yourself if you say that you can kill your baby, and it be good for you. That’s just deception, thats not true it doesn’t register with reality. Mama’s, women are not made that way. Woman are made to
protect and to guard and to… die for their babies, not their babies to die for them.” There are approximately 4,000 Crisis Pregnancy Centers in America and as of 2014 there were 1,671 abortion clinics. In 2016 Mississippi had one abortion clinic, and it had 38 CPC’s. It is somebody’s right to be pro-life, and want to set up a center that wants to share their beliefs on why a women should want to carry to term. However, the issue with these CPC’s are that women who are actively seeking medical care are often mislead by these centers. There are cases of women who think they are going into an abortion clinic, and then they are given false information about how far along they are and the timeline of abortions. By the time they finally get to seeing an abortion clinic after officially making up their minds they are too far along to have an abortion and are forced to carry to term, or seek other unsafe alternatives.
