One challenge that organizations face in the transition between selling products using the traditional brick and mortar marketing channel and selling products online is getting the product to the customer. Some business cannot completely convert to an online presence due to their product or service cannot be shipped to the customer or can be costly to ship the product. Another challenge consists of the product outweighing the cost to deliver the product to the customer. “If the value of services they provide fails to exceed the cost of providing them, they will eventually fail” (Finch, 2012, Sec. 12.1). It is important for the product to have a greater value then the cost of deliver or consumers will not make the purchase, or the company could lose revenue due to the cost of delivery.
