PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL 2 Performance appraisal “is the process through which employee performance is assessed, feedback is provided to the employee, and corrective action plans are designed” (Youssef 6.2). Performance appraisals allow employees an insight to what their strengths and weaknesses are, and as well how much ability they have in their career and how far they can advance in the future. In this paper I will discuss the strategic advantages of performance appraisals, forms of bias, and how performance appraisal can contribute to the achievement of strategic objectives. Performance appraisals are reports for employees that are given to employees yearly about their previous year’s performance. There are many benefits of an appraisal which include a record of performance to the employer about their employees over a certain period of time. This
