Heather Dyse Task 3 C304 Quality and safety are the most important aspects of a nurses role when providing care. As nurses our primary goal is the safety of the patient. Routine inspections are done in every facility to make sure that the facility and we as nurses are practicing safe and are doing it in a safe environment. One regulatory body that does this is the Joint Commission. During the inspection, they are looking for safety hazards that could potentially be of harm to our patients. As nurses, we can make sure that we are practicing safety with every patient. Some assessments such as the Morse Fall Scale should be done on every patient. I know that as nurses we often overlook this assessment especially on patients who do not "fit" in our mind as being at risk for falling. Evidence Based Practice in nursing can significantly contribute to safe, quality nursing practice.
