Unformatted text preview: Origins Reflection Jordan Milazzo May 13, 2018 CWV-101 Peter Rasor Creation Account From Genesis 1-2 • According to (Genesis 1:1 NIV) God created the heavens and the Earth • He created morning and night • He created all living creatures, they are all good Creation Account From Genesis 1-2 • In (Genesis 1:26 NIV) God created man in his own image • God made male and female • (Genesis 1:28 NIV) states that God blessed man and woman, wanted them to be fruitful and multiply Creation Account From Genesis 1-2 • According to Dan Diffey (2018), Genesis chapter 2 is all about God’s relationship with humans, specifically Adam and Eve • The only thing that is “not good” according to Genesis is for man to be alone • God would walk and communicate with His people in the Garden of Eden Creation Account From Genesis 1-2 • Man and woman were made to work, but not as part of a punishment according to Dan Diffey (2018) • Man and woman work so they can become independent, work is a good thing, tending the livestock, picking fruit, and caring for the plants • “The work done here on Earth reveals one’s worldview and ultimately should be done for he glory of God.” (Diffey, 2018) Personal Beliefs About the Origins of the Universe • God created everything in is His perfect image • Belief that the Big bang occurred with God as authority • According to William Lane Craig, PhD (2014) the universe was indeed created by God and had a finite beginning Personal Beliefs About the Origins of the Universe • God created so much within this Earth • I believe that the Father, the Son, and the holy Spirit all played a role in the creation story • We, as humans are here to take care of what has been given to us Personal Beliefs About the Origins of the Universe • The theory of evolution completely ignores any signs of God, or that man rules over animals • Atheists believe that the world didn’t have a creator • I believe that the world is billions of years old • Creation story took place over a long period of time, it was a significant event Personal Beliefs About the Origins of the Universe • More science = more evidence of God • I believe that the Earth will have a complete ending controlled by God • There are some things in this world that we can not explain • The only possible explanation for supernatural events on Earth—it’s God! How My Beliefs About Origins Impact My Worldview • My worldview is that of a Christian perspective • God created in the universe including me • God created me in his image and has a purpose for me How My Beliefs About Origins Impact My Worldview • Christian foundation of my beliefs, views, and opinions • Since I have God my life has more meaning • My worldviews align with those of the Bible How My Beliefs About Origins Impact My Worldview • God created man and woman to have a purpose • Our purpose should bring glory to God • Hard work and diligence shows how much we love God here on Earth How My Beliefs About Origins Impact My Worldview • I believe that death is not the end • There is a spiritual world that intervenes here on Earth, and is where we go in the end • The Holy Spirit helps guide me physically while on this Earth How My Beliefs About Origins Impact My Worldview • There will be future purposes • God will direct each new purpose that comes along • My priorities of purposes may change as I age References Diffey, Dan.
