Fortune!Elaine Stone, 3rdEdition Please Have your book by Week 2.Methods of InstructionDiscussion, lecture, group work, individual research and outside projects.Learning Outcomes1.Compare and contrast the three theories of fashion and describe how each influence how fashionstyles originate2.Demonstrate the understanding of the historic development of the fashion industry and howregional market centers and trade shows developed in the process.3.Outline the characteristics of the men’s, women’s, and children’s apparel industry and the specificcareers related to each.Course Requirements1.Technology:In order to be in this online course you must have access to a computer and be able to logon at least 3 times a week. All the classwork for the class will be given via the Canvas portal and you willupload all work on the portal for me to grade.2. Participation is required.Participation makes up 35% of your grade.If you don’t log onto Canvasand participate as required you can’t pass the course. For the summer, the assignments will be split with thefirst block (A) being due on Friday’sand most other assignments (block B) will be due onMondays.Please talk to me in advance if you have any conflicts. The key is communication.3. Classroom Netiquette. In order for the semester to run smoothly, we must show respect for others.Please take a look at the netiquette guidelines, will be discussing them in detail during our first week.4.Late Work and Test Make Ups:Late work will NOT be accepted for full credit unless you have a medical release. Unexcused lateassignments and projects will be marked down 10%.Discussionboard questions are set upso thatclassmates can discuss and learn from each other, this can only be effective if it’s done in a timely manner.For that reason, late discussions will automatically be worth 5 points instead of the normal 10. NO latework accepted after 1 week of the due date.There will be no make ups for the final, unless arrangementsare made prior to the final date.
