In the United States of America, marijuana is currently illegal in almost all states, but the legalization of marijuana can make a huge change in the future of America. Marijuana has many positive benefits in; the community, decline in violence, the economy, human health, and should be a right of the people. Evidence in Colorado on the effects of marijuana legalization clearly shows through facts, and statistics that marijuana has a positive benefit on the state. By looking at the evidence, the state has seen many positive benefits in the community. The state has seen a decline in violence. The economy of the state has been better than ever. The plant cannabis has shown many positive benefits to human health. Lastly in the land of the free, marijuana should be a right of the people. Keywords:marijuana

Discussions today about marijuana often tends to create fear and are very misleading. Uncertainty about marijuana being classified as a type one drug often tends to be deceptive, and there are many politics behind it being classified as a type one drug. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) (2018)“Schedule I drugs have a high potential for abuse andthe potential to create severe psychological and/or physical dependence”, (Drug Scheduling, par. 1). This statement by the DEA is deceptive, untrue, traitorous, it is doing something for profit, and it is keeping people in jail. What marijuana is according to Drug Abuse (2018) is a plant thatcontains the mind-altering chemical THC and other similar compounds. Risks posed by marijuana do exist but are not significant. With marijuana being legalized the positive aspects ofthe mind-altering plant out way the risks. According to Chris Baynes (2018) sales of marijuana have overtaken alcohol in Aspen, a city in Colorado, three years after the state became the first inthe US to legalize recreational use of the drug, this is the first time any substance has produced more sales than alcohol in America. Marijuana is escalating, and may be the golden goose this country needs. In the United States of America, marijuana is currently illegal in almost all states,but the legalization of marijuana can make a huge change in the future of America. Marijuana has many positive benefits.After the legalization of marijuana, Colorado has seen many positive benefits in the community. Imagine there being a product people wanted to buy, that served them in a positive way, and contributed in a way back to the community. This may seem far-fetched, but such a
