REFLECTION PAPER2Reflection PaperDealing with a possibly psychotic client is a challenge. For a new practitioner the first interview with an individual in the midst of a psychotic episode could either be the beginning of a career or the quick end to one. Conducting a role-play can help one confront some of the challenging aspects of a psychotic individual, while also providing some beneficial learning opportunities. Additionally, one can ascertain what he or she would do differently in a future scenario and how to enhance skills to improve the interview process.Most Challenging AspectThe most challenging aspect was trying to ascertain the information needed. D.C. did an excellent job of portraying an individual with, according to the DSM-IV-TR, Delusional Disorder,Jealous Type. His continuous, unrelenting belief that his spouse was cheating on him was difficult to work through.
