(PSA) test)
The prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test is described as the process of screening for
prostate cancer although it has high false-positive rate. In addition, the test results in prostate
biopsies that is unnecessary and prostate cancer over diagnosis. Therefore, in this paper we will
review the factors that affect the reliability and validity of various assessment and diagnostic
tests. Additionally, we will discuss validity, reliability and issues concerning sensitivity,
specificity, predictive values, ethical dilemmas and their controversies. Lastly, we will
demonstrate how the PSA is used in healthcare.
Firstly, the PSA screens prostate cancer and it’s largely commended for prostate cancer
reduction in the last decades.
The test involves measuring the amount of prostate-specific
antigen (PSA) in your blood. It is a form of protein that is positioned below a man’s bladder and
