Some of these revolutions actually consisted of slaves and indigenous people fighting for the same rights as the white Europeans that conquered their land. Enlightenment themes and ideas on democracy and freedom inspired these changes and actually influenced theirgovernment policies and constitutions.2. The Latin American people achieved independence in a similar process to the United States in which shortly after enlightenment ideas and anarchy spread throughout South America, they formed their militaries and fought for similar goals such as their independence and constitutional rights.
