There is much potential for conflict in GVT as members workacross cultural, geographical, and time boundaries.GVT offer several benefits of access to expertise, round-the-clock service to customers, fastresponse to global market demands, and saving of travel costs. However, team diversity andspace-time dispersion in GVT may pose challenges and conflicts to effective teamwork.Whileteam diversity is celebrated for stimulating creativity and allowing a variety of skills to bebrought to bear on problems at hand, it may also reduce team cohesion and increase conflict.Conflict in GVT may be exacerbated by communication delays, time zone differences, and lackof face-to-face contact due to space-time dispersion. These factors may hinder development ofunderstanding and relationships among members of GVT.If poorly managed, conflict can leadto ineffective teamwork and negative outcomes.
