Respiratory Disease Paper-Asthma 2Respiratory Disease Paper-AsthmaAsthma is a long term chronic disease that affect the individual’s lungs and prevents themfrom being able to breathe. The person’s lungs become inflamed, narrow, and swell which does not allow them to be able to breathe. Asthma affects many of the world’s population and is a continuing chronic problem in the United States. Asthma can be treated and maintained but it cannot be cured. It takes many different things such as breathing treatments, use of inhaler, oxygen, and other medications to help the person keep breathing. There are many different stages of asthma. Some are not as chronic as others and all can be treated and need to be addressed as soon as possible. If not treated it can cause death. Asthma can be primary, secondary, and tertiary. Primary is prevention that targets the reductions in asthma attacks. Secondary is the mitigation of asthma. Tertiary is reducing the complications of asthma. There are many different stages of asthma and different ways of trying to improve the complications of the symptoms of asthma. There are ways of trying to prevent asthma altogether.
