Roe v. Wad Roe v Wade wan an influential Supreme Court case that continues to affect reproductive rights. Before Roe v Wade there was no federal law regulating abortion. It was up to the stated to determine what was legal and what wasn’t legal. Following the case the states still had some authority surrounding different abortions issues such as the laws being a product of a Victorian concern about illicit sexual conduct, abortion as a medical procedure and the state’s interest in protecting prenatal life. The Pro-Choice feminism embraces rights for all humans without regards to one’s race, color, religion, sex or age and they reject the use to control or destroy one another. Abortion violates the core principles of feminism. Women’s groups argued that illegality led many women to seek black market abortions by unlicensed doctors or would try to do the procedure themselves, so as a result some states began to legitimize abortions.
