Middle Deltoid O: Acromion Process I: Deltoid Tuberosity A: Shoulder Abduction N: Axillary (C5,6) Upper Trapezius O: Occipital Protuberance & Nuchal Ligament (Occipital Protuberance-C7) I: Lateral End of Clavicle and Acromion Process A: Scapular Elevation (Resultant Vector) & Upward Rotation N: Cranial Nerve XI, C3 and C4 (sensory) 2. Be able to palpate the C7 spinous process, be able to name 2 muscles that have at least a partial attachment to it, and instruct & assist your patient in performing their primary actions. Rhomboids O: Spinous Processes of C7-T5 I: Vertebral Border of Scapula between Superior and Inferior Angles A: Scapular Retraction, Scapular Elevation, & Scapular Downward Rotation N: Dorsal Scapular (C5) Middle Trapezius O: Nuchal Ligament of Lower Cervical Vertebrae, Spinous Process of C7, Upper Thoracic Vertebrae I: Medial Aspect of Acromion & Spine of Scapula A: Scapular Retraction N: Cranial Nerve XI, C3 and C4 (sensory)
3. Be able to palpate the greater tuberosity of the humerus, name two muscles that attach to it, and have your patient perform their primary actions.
