Swimal Shah CIS 549-4297 Cloud Computing Environment Summer Quarter, 2016 Assignment 7 Q 1. What are some of the pros and cons of the major trends in personal technology?> Three major trends in information technology are convergence, portability, and personalization. Convergence:Convergence, or digital convergence, describes the combining of several industries—computers, communications, consumer electronics, entertainment, and mass media—through various devices that exchange data in digital form.Hybrid convergence devices have pros and cons, some of which are as follows.>THE UPSIDE: As computing and communications have migrated from expensive desktop computers, which were used mainly by upper-income people, to easier-to-use and more affordable smartphones, users have also changed, with a much greater diversity of people being involved. And they are using their handhelds for many more non-voice data applications, such as taking pictures, accessing the Internet, playing music, retrieving email, watching movies, visiting social networking sites, and texting. Indeed, engineers have succeeded in designing the smartphone so you can use it as a universal remote to control yourmusic, your TV, your PowerPoint presentation, or whatever.>THE DOWNSIDE: Not all hybrid devices are necessarily practical. For one thing, any device whose primary feature is compromised by converged technologies is not necessarily a good device. For another thing, the more hardware capabilities that one loads onto one device, the more applications one uses it for—and the more apps and types of connections—the higher the risk of security breaches, ID theft, outsiders tracking personal data and locations, and the loss of focus on face-to-face communication.Portability:Portability means the state or quality of being portable—that is, capable of being carried or moved about. Portability also has its upside and downside.>THE UPSIDE: The advantages of portability seem obvious: being able to do
